02/19/18

Two trombonists will come together to perform a variety of music including contemporary brass compositions and impressionistic style pieces on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the Creative Arts Guild.

Douglas Warner and Michael Carver will perform selections including pieces from Frank Gulino and Pierre Lantier in a concert hosted by Dalton State College. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and students, free for children under 5. Those with a Dalton State ID receive free admission.

Carver, who serves on the Dalton State faculty as a part-time music instructor, is the bass trombonist with the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera at the Tivoli Theater in Chattanooga, Tenn. He has toured China and Japan as a member of the Hollywood Film Orchestra.

Warner, who serves as the assistant professor of music at Lee University, is the principle trombonist for the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra and Opera. He is a member of the King’s Brass - a nine member, sacred brass, summer touring ensemble - with which he has recorded four albums.

This recital is made possible by a grant from the Dalton State Foundation to the Dalton State’s School of Liberal Arts.
