Consider studying during the summer in Madrid, the geographic center of Spain and the historic center of the entire Hispanic world. The city of four million is a modern European hub with state-of-the-art transportation and cyber cafes, but its Old World charm shines through in its long afternoon siestas, its warm and friendly people, and its majestic monuments of Spain's glorious past. Students will have the opportunity to visit flamenco clubs, the bullfight, tapas bars, and world-class museums, as well as to participate in Madrid's seemingly endless nightlife, as the streets overflow with people having a glass of sangria, talking to neighbors, and in general, enjoying life in this vibrant city.

Ireland-Waterford (June 15 - July 20, 2017)
Live and study for five weeks in Ireland’s oldest city! See the cultural, artistic, and historical treasures which have made Ireland a destination for generations!  Waterford, once a walled settlement of Viking origins, retains much of its medieval character together with graceful cathedrals and townhouses from its 18th century expansion. The program fee includes two program trips to Dublin, a three-day stay in Killarney, Co. Kerry in the rugged West of Ireland, and eight day trips across the gorgeous mountains and valleys of southeastern Ireland to take in some of Europe’s most outstanding castles, stately homes, gardens, ecclesiastical sites, and prehistoric monuments.

Japan (June 15 - July 25, 2017)
The program in Japan offers courses in  Japanese language and Culture. Earn 6 undergraduate semester hours. The host institution is located just twenty minutes away from the beautiful cities of Osaka and Kyoto.   The city is close to many historical and cultural sites like Kinkaukuji, or the Golden Pavilion.  The program fee includes round-trip airfare, lodging, some field trips and excursions to Tokyo and Hiroshima. The program doe not include food costs.

  Morocco, (March 3-14, 2016) This program is designed to introduce students to the many wonders of Morocco with a 10-day international experience over spring break to explore different cultures, landscapes and people. On-the-ground logistics are being handled by Journey Beyond Travel specializing in cultural tours of Morocco for small groups and educational institutions ( As the inaugural study-abroad opportunity to Morocco, space is limited to 8 students. Any Dalton State student that is upper division eligible can participate. The course associated with this trip is: MNGT 4800: Doing Business in Morocco, worth 3 hours of Upper Division Business Credit (class can also count for ECON 4800, MARK 4800, or BUSA 3351) $3,550

Program Details

 Peru (9 - 18, 2017)

This 10-day spring break program provides an international educational experience through our international course, BUSA 4800, Special Topics - Doing Business in Peru. This course will include international business lectures at Peru’s CENTRUM Graduate Business School and visits to the manufacturing facilities of two multinational companies (Aje Group and Cementos Lima) along with a rich cultural immersion that include a flight from Lima to the ancient city of Cuzco, a train trip to the historic sanctuary of Machupicchu, and visits to touristic attractions in Lima and Cuzco. This 3-credit course can be used to satisfy 3-credit hours of Upper Division Business credits or BUSA 3351, International Business.

Germany (October. 6 - 15, 2016)

This 10-day program is for BUSA 4800: Case Studies in International Business - Germany. It focuses on introducing students to the German business world. With Germany’s strategic position within the European Union, it is an important country to learn how business is done. Many offices of multinationals are located all around Germany. This program will introduce students to the opportunities, challenges and strength of the German Business Market. Students will have the opportunity to visit facilities in both the USA and Germany for Mann+Hummel and Porsche, allowing them to compare and contrast how organizations work in both countries. An important part of the program will teach students how to negotiate, build relationships and develop intercultural competencies, important competencies for School of Business students. Dalton State Affiliated Programs


Knowledge Exchange Institute (KEI) has an affiliated agreement with Dalton State. Students who enroll in one of their study abroad programs will receive $500 discount on program fee and application fee waiver, and will be eligible for its study abroad scholarship. KEI currently offers summer study abroad programs in the following countries: China (Beijing), Ecuador (Guayaquil), England (London), France (Paris), India (Pune), Ireland (Dublin), Italy (Milan), Japan (Akita), Kenya (Nairobi), Peru (Lima & Cuzco), Russia (Moscow), Scotland (Edinbburgn), Spain( Barcelona), Tanzania (Dar es Saam), Thailand (Bankok), and Turkey (Istanbul). KEI also offers many intershp programs as well.

International Studies Abroad (ISA) has an affiliated agreement with Dalton State.
