Volunteer Income Tax Assistance with Wright School of Business
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) has completed its ninth year of service in the Dalton community. The program is carried out in partnership with the Georgia United Credit Union. Students from the accounting program certify with the Internal Revenue Service and prepare taxes for individuals and families. WSOB students from the professional development course volunteer time as receptionists for the program. In 2022, students completed and filed over 327 returns from late January through mid-March. These returns produced $217,230 in federal refunds and $89,626 in state refunds. The College provided 30 volunteers who volunteered 756 hours of their time. Students interested in volunteering in the spring semester should contact Ms. Jamie Connors, jconnors@daltonstate.edu.
The 2023 Tax season has begun. The location for VITA has been moved to the Dalton State College campus. If you have any questions please contact Ms. Connors. If you are needing an appointment to have your taxes done, please select an appointment time here.
