I've Been Accepted, Now What?
CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR OFFICIAL ACCEPTANCE!
What’s next? Below is a checklist that will help ensure that your transition to Dalton State is smooth and simple. This list also makes a great preparation checklist prior to attending new student orientation.
FINANCIAL AID & SCHOLARSHIPS
Apply online for federal aid and HOPE at www.fafsa.gov (DSC school code: 003956).
NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION
All new DSC students are required to attend orientation. To register for your orientation session, visit the orientation website (website navigation guidelines above) to select a session date, and pay the $40 fee. Once you complete your registration, be sure to mark your calendar! At orientation, you will register for classes, as well as have the opportunity to hear from important departments on campus! Parents and guests are welcome and encouraged to attend orientation. They will attend their own track with important information.
COMPUTING SERVICES & DALTON STATE E-MAIL
Every DSC student has a Roadrunner Portal account. This will give you access to your Dalton State e-mail, campus announcements, academic records, and other important information.
Interested in living in our state-of-the-art residential hall? We don’t blame you! Campus housing opportunities are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Complete your Residential Life application today! See the application flyer for more information.
During your orientation session, you will register for classes for your first semester. Classes fill up quickly, so the sooner you can attend an orientation, the better!
Student parking decals will be available at orientation. Your decal is covered in your student fee!
DALTON STATE BOOKSTORE
Once you register for classes, you can visit the Dalton State Bookstore in person or online to see which books you will need. The Bookstore makes available all Dalton State course textbooks and educational supplies you will need. Also, be sure to stop by the Bookstore for Dalton State clothing and memorabilia!
What better way to say “I’m a Roadrunner” than by making it official with a Roadrunner Card! Your Roadrunner card will serve as your official Dalton State student I.D. Your picture will be made at Orientation, so be sure to look your best!
PAY TUITION & FEES
Tuition must be paid in full by the payment deadline. If financial aid does not cover your full tuition and fees, you must pay the remaining balance by noon on the payment deadline day. Visit the academic calendar for the most current deadline dates.
