Home-Schooled/Non-Accredited High School
Definition: A student who has graduated from a home school program or non-accredit high school.
Home-Schooled/Non-Accredited High School Application Process:
A homeschool/non-accredited high school applicant must submit the following items to be considered for admission:
- Application for Admission
- $30 Non-Refundable Application Fee
- Official High School Transcript
- Official SAT and/or ACT Scores
- Curriculum Descriptions for Required High School Curriculum Units (see below)
- Certificate of Immunization
- Verification of Lawful Presence (students seeking in-state tuition)

Minimum SAT or ACT requirements
About the redesigned SAT:
Dalton State will accept the redesigned SAT beginning in summer 2016. Redesigned scores will be converted to old scores for admission evaluation purposes. The two-digit Reading test score will be used to create a Critical Reading score, and the Math section score will be used to create a Math score. Concordance information can be found via College Board.
SAT = Critical Reading 19, Math 360
ACT = English 14, Math 12
Required High School Curriculum Units (RHSC)
- 4 units of English
- 4 units of mathematics
- 4 units of science
- 3 units of social science, with at least one unit focusing on United States studies and one unit focusing on world studies
- 2 units of the same foreign language

Curriculum descriptions for RHSC units must include:
- Course title
- Course description
- List of course learning materials, including textbooks and software
- Course credit
- Year completed
- Grade earned
- Unit Source (public school, private school, correspondence program, or home generated curriculum)
