Fraternity & Sorority Life Members

Joining a fraternity or sorority can provide you with the opportunity to create social connections and build campus traditions. As a member, you would join a community that fosters leadership development and scholarship, and engages and plans awareness and fundraising events.

Alpha Kappa Lambda (AKΛ) - Gamma Omicron Chapter Members

Alpha Kappa Lambda

The members of Alpha Kappa Lambda (AKΛ), Gamma Omicron Chapter, serve as men of character committed to making a difference. As brothers of AKΛ, we strive to embody our five ideals: Judeo-Christian Principles, Leadership, Scholarship, Loyalty, and Self-Support. Our chapter was founded on April 8, 2014, at Dalton State and provides students with the opportunity to build traditions on campus and engage in leadership opportunities. AKΛ is a non-hazing fraternity that has done away with pledging and instead has a five-day process that starts when a person accepts a bid for membership and ends when they are initiated on day five. Our chapter hosts the "These Hands Don't Hurt" event each semester to raise awareness about sexual assault and domestic violence, which has received the Program of Distinction Award by Dalton State. Above all, Alpha Kappa Lambda is committed to providing members with structure, leadership experience, and a set of morals to prepare them for life after college. 

Alpha Omicron Pi (AOII) Fraternity Members

Alpha Omicron Pi (AOII) Fraternity was founded in 1897 in New York City. The Lambda Delta chapter, chartered in 2014 as the first women's sorority at Dalton State upholds the ideals of character, dignity, scholarship, and college loyalty. We strive to live these values to the fullest and carry the spirit of AOII into the world. Our chapter actively supports AOII's national philanthropy, the Juvenile Arthritis Foundation, and our local philanthropy, The Miracle League of Whitfield County. The Miracle League provides the opportunity for children and adults with physical or mental disabilities to play America's favorite pastime, baseball. We also offer various leadership and academic opportunities within our chapter that prepares members for future success upon graduation. In 2021 at the AOII International Convention, we were awarded the Southern Charm Accolade. Our values are living symbols that bind us not for just four years but a lifetime. They enable us to go with character and confidence into the world around us, assurance that AOII is ours, and offer friendships and opportunities throughout our lifetime.

Alpha Sigma Tau (AΣT) Sorority was founded in 1899 in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The Epsilon Upsilon chapter, locally founded at Dalton State on April 2nd, 2016, upholds the values of Graciousness, Respect, Intellect, Connections, and Excellence. Our national philanthropy is the Women’s Wellness Initiative, through which we strive to empower the lives of women and girls in ways that uplift generations to come. Alpha Sigma Tau was named Registered Student Organization of The Year for 2021-2022 for our impactful programming, dedicated service, and enthusiastic leadership. The sisters of Alpha Sigma Tau take pride in striving to contribute our share to the progress of humankind. We offer various leadership opportunities within the sorority that provide our members with a network and skills to help them navigate life with a community of strong connections that last a lifetime.
