Homecoming
Homecoming is a great time for Dalton State alumni and friends to reconnect to the campus and reunite with old friends. It is also a great time for current students to celebrate what makes Dalton State truly unique and outstanding.
We hope you will choose to participate in this year's Homecoming Events. Please note the schedule is still subject to change. Additional details will be added as they become available. If you have any questions, please contact the Dean of Students Office at 706-272-4428.

Pope Student Center
HOCO Kickoff | Trivia Night
Trivia Night will be the Homecoming Kickoff Event at Dalton State College! The event will take place in the Pope Student Center. Gather a team of family or friends and meet up for a night of trivia hosted by Jerry Drye, sometimes referred to as the funniest man at DSC. Prizes will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. Free snacks will be available for Dalton State Students. Aladdin's Roadrunner Cafe and Food Trucks will be onsite for those who want to purchase dinner or refreshments.
Free T-shirts and refreshments for students who have a valid Student ID. Employees and the community can purchase shirts for $10 while supplies last.

Downtown Dalton
Spirit Night
Spirit Night will kick off with a Homecoming Parade in Downtown Dalton. Any group of students, academic department, alumni, or community group can register for FREE to participate in the parade. If you want to coordinate a float or walking group, please register here before January 25th.
The parade is open to the community, and the route will depart from the front parking lot of Dalton First Baptist Church onto W. Waugh Street, turn right onto Hamilton Street, process two blocks, and cut right on Crawford Street. Following the parade, we encourage everyone to meet at Burr Park for a Pep rally. The attached list of local businesses will offer discounts and specials to celebrate Dalton State's Homecoming Celebration.

Basketball Game and Homecoming Court Coronation
The basketball game will be at 2:00 pm in Bandy Gym. You are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance of the game. Space in Bandy is limited. Overflow viewing and seating will be available in the Bandy Gym Classroom. Students enter the games for FREE. Homecoming Court Royalty will be crowned at halftime.

The Homecoming Bash: Casino Royale
The Homecoming Bash is a formal social themed as Casino Royale. This year’s event will have a live DJ, Casino Tables, and Dancing. Transportation will be provided from Mashburn Hall to the Dalton Convention Center throughout the evening for any students wanting to utilize the shuttle service. The event will be from 8:00 pm until midnight. Light refreshments will be provided. Beer and wine are available for purchase for students 21+. Light refreshments will be provided to attendees.

The homecoming court is a part of the annual homecoming festivities at Dalton State. The purpose of the court is to recognize members of the student body who make invaluable contributions to the Dalton State community and represent the core ideals of Dalton State as a student leader. Throughout the week of homecoming, these students serve as ambassadors of school spirit and pride as a Dalton State Roadrunner. Voting for the king, queen, prince, and princess will take place during the week of homecoming, and the winners will be recognized during half-time at the homecoming basketball game.
The weight is as follows:
- Application 20%
- Interview: 20%
- Court Involvement: 20%
- Vote: 40%
Navy Court:
- Nominees must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours.
- Nominees must be graduating by December 2024 with a bachelor's degree.
- Nominees must have a minimum of a 2.75 institutional GPA.
Two court members with the highest score at the end will be crowned navy royalty. Students can only hold one winning position per court while attending Dalton State.
Silver Court:
- Nominees must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours.
- Nominees can be any student regardless of class standing, except those graduating by December 2024 with a bachelor’s degree.
- Nominees must have a minimum of a 2.5 Institutional GPA.
Two court members with the highest score at the end will be crowned silver royalty. Students can only hold one winning position per court while attending Dalton State.
Submit a Nomination
Individuals who are nominated will have the opportunity to accept their nomination and will be asked to complete an application. Once applications have been scored, a select group of individuals will be interviewed by a committee of faculty and staff. From those interviewed, the homecoming court will be slated and voted on by the entire student body. Each portion of the process will be weighted to determine the winners who will be crowned during halftime at the homecoming game.
Voting for the Homecoming Court will open on January 22, 2024. To cast your vote, follow the instructions below:

After accepting their nominations, they formally applied and were interviewed to receive their spot on the court. Students will have the opportunity to vote for Homecoming Court Royalty from January 22 at 8:00 am - February 2 at 9:00 pm:
