Student Organizations
Registered Student Organizations will allow students to build communities through connections made by common interests and identities. These communities will provide opportunities for students to develop their leadership, promote awareness of issues, expand professional and personal competencies, and engage with Dalton State and local communities outside of the classroom.

RSO Type: Fraternity
AKL is a small fraternity centered around shaping guys into men of character. Alpha Kappa Lambda at Dalton State College seeks to be the premier collegiate experience for students that lead to lifelong brotherhood. Alpha Kappa Lambda develops brothers who, guided by the Five Ideals, share a lifelong commitment to scholarship, service, and leadership.

The object of the Fraternity shall be to encourage a spirit of Fraternity and love among its members; to stand at all times for character, dignity, scholarship, and college loyalty; to strive for and support the best interests of the colleges and universities in which chapters are installed, and in no way to disregard, injure, or sacrifice those interests for the sake of prestige or advancement of the Fraternity or any of its chapters.

The mission of the Alpha Sigma Tau National Sorority and its chapters shall be to invest in women by instilling the skills necessary to navigate life and inspire members to enrich their own lives and the lives of others.

The purpose of ALPFA is to succeed our Wright School of Business students, as well as our other student body, to gain many connections and experiences throughout our involvement in our community as well as the surrounding communities. ALPFA continues to build upon its proud legacy with a mission: To empower and develop men and women as leaders of character for the nation, in every sector of the global economy.

The purpose of the BSU is to provide a safe space to gather, collaborate, share ideas, and concerns as it relates to matriculating as black students at Dalton State College. Each student is an important contributor to the College's mission and black students are needed to assist in accomplishing the college's goals and objectives: to promote diversity, rich collegiate experiences, active leadership, and positive contributions to the college community and beyond. To ensure effective and successful participation of black student voice, this organization will provide the best possible environment to encourage, and also guide decisions that will identify, explore, and recommend specific actions in the recruitment, retention, and support of black students at DSC.

The Focus of the Blue Steel Drum line is to perform at all home athletic events during the basketball and soccer seasons. We do student-organized events such as performances on campus. and performances at recruiting events like orientation. We raise awareness of school spirit on campus. We consist of 10 Snares, 6 Tenor Drums, 7 Bass Drums, and 8 Cymbals.

The Photography and Film club at Dalton State aims to provide students interested in either film or photography with an opportunity to showcase their skills and serve the campus. Members would be able to attend Dalton State events and take pictures or video which can be showcased on campus. Members will also be able to strengthen their knowledge of photography and film through workshops as well as attending education sessions throughout the semester.

Psi Chi is the International Honor Society in Psychology whose purpose shall be to encourage, stimulate, and maintain excellence in scholarship of the individual members in all fields, and to advance the science of psychology.

The purpose of this club is to stimulate, maintain, and encourage excellence in psychology. The club seeks to facilitate and further knowledge in psychology among students. The Psychology Club seeks to encourage and promote networking between students, their peers, and their professors.

Dalton State's Sigma Tau Delta chapter, Alpha Chi Phi, upholds the purpose of the International English Honor Society founded in 1924 at Dakota Wesleyan University. The Society strives to confer distinction for high achievement in English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies and to offer cultural stimulation on college campuses and promote interest in literature and the English language in surrounding communities. Members will demonstrate high standards of academic excellence, holding at least a 3.0 overall GPA, and serve the community by fostering literacy, offering student members a venue to publish and present their works, as Sigma Tau Delta recognizes the accomplishments of professional writers who have contributed to the fields of language and literature through various publications.

Hello! Thank you for wanting more information on the Request For Funding Process here at Dalton State College. Those eligible to request funding through this process include: Current RSO’s, RSO’s seeking recognition, any student, any employee or department hosting a student program.
- In order to submit the Request For Funding, please make sure you have all of the items taken care of prior:
- For Current RSO’s: please make sure that you have attended 75% (6 out of 8) SGA Meetings of the previous year in order to be eligible.
- All other eligible parties: you may submit a Request For Funding at any point.
- Please use this form to submit the official request. If you have any questions during the process, please reach out to the Office of Student Life for further assistance - contact information is below.
- After submitting the request, you should receive an email from the Vice-President of SGA to present your Request for Funding at the Budget and Fee Committee meeting that occurs prior to the full SGA meeting, the last Friday of every month at 8:00am. In addition, you will attend and present the request at the General SGA meeting at 10:00 AM. You will be responsible for presenting these items:
- The amount requested
- A breakdown of costs
- The number of students attending
- The benefit the targeted students will gain from your proposal
- How it will help the students at Dalton State college
- After these steps have been completed, a decision will be made by the voting members of SGA. If your request has been approved, you can work with Student Life to process all purchases.

We are so glad you are interested in starting a new RSO! Below is an overview of the process.
To submit the RSO Request, please make sure you have all of the items completed:
- 10 or more currently enrolled student members that have agreed to join the club
- A faculty or staff member that has agreed to serve as an advisor to the group
- A constitution that states all required information.

Funding eligibility is contingent on approval of New RSO Application.
Once the above items are completed, please fill out New RSO Application. If you have any questions during the process, please reach out to the Office of Student Life - contact information is below.
After submitting the application, you should receive an email from the Vice-President of SGA present your Request for Funding at the SGA Cabinet meeting that occurs prior to the full SGA meeting, the last Friday of every month at 8:00am. If approved, consider submitting a Request for Funding (p. 11) to secure an operating budget for your new RSO.
