The semester is winding down, and the past two weeks have been busy all across campus. Here are some highlights:
1. Fall Family Festival
Roadrunners welcomed the community to the quad to our annual Fall Family Festival. Children and the campus community celebrated fall as they dressed up, played games, and ate candy.
2. Day of the Dead Celebration
Students and the community met in upper Pope to observe Dia de los Muertos and learn more about Latino culture. They painted faces, created papel picado, decorated mini skulls, and contributed to a remembrance altar.
3. Literary Spooktacular
Colloquia: The English Club at Dalton State, Roberts Library, and the Department of English got their spook on as they shared frightening fiction, deadly drama, and petrifying poems! Participants dressed as their favorite author, character, or pun. Here, Dr. Jenny Crisp is the "pirate laureate" as she reads chilling Southern Gothic poetry.
4. Blue/White Scrimmage
Our Roadrunner basketball team hosted a high-energy blue/white scrimmage game in Bandy Gym to give the community a taste of what to expect this season.
5. First Home Basketball Game
Basketball season is in full swing! Come out to see our Roadrunners (1-1) take on University of Pikeville on Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. at the Dalton Convention Center.
