Working with Roberts Library and to close out the library’s recognition of this month with their Black History Month Walk, the English Department is hosting a "read-in" to celebrate the words and ideas of iconic Black Americans.  This event is part of the NCTE’s nationwide program that started in 1990 to encourage recognition of Black American writers and extends from the elementary grades to college-level resources.  You can find out more about the program here: https://ncte.org/college/.  This event is scheduled for Thursday, 2/29 in Room 141 from 12:30-2:30 p.m.We have limited time slots; you may choose a five-minute, ten-minute, and (only one) fifteen-minute slot. You’ll be asked to submit an author/title of the reading you’d like to share.
