Age: 22
Hometown: Dalton

Expected graduation date: Spring 2020
Why did you choose Dalton State? I wanted to go to a place that wasn’t very expensive but I could still have the “college experience.” Beyond that, I was familiar with the campus since my dad had attended here so I wasn’t worried about getting confused about where my classes should be.
What does it mean to you to be part of the Roadrunner Nation? It means being a part of a close-knit community and finding your people within that community in order to succeed.
What do you plan to do after graduation? I would like to go to graduate school and eventually get my doctorate. I think being a professor would suit me.
Who is/was your favorite professor and why? I don’t think I have a favorite, but if you’re looking for recommendations, I would say that Dr. Bruce is hilarious, Dr. Fowler is tough but fair and Dr. Hornbuckle is very enthusiastic about her subject.
Where is your favorite study spot? Second floor of the library in front of one of the big windows looking out over the creek. My advice is to try and avoid the squeaky rocking chairs and don’t go there during finals unless you want to hear the panicked whispers of procrastinators.
Where is your favorite hangout? Well, this question assumes I have a life outside of school and my cats. I really like going to coffee shops or Barnes and Noble. Come to think of it any place that sells books or tea or both sound like a place that I would spend my free time.
What is your best memory so far as part of the Roadrunner Nation? Joining a sorority. I’m an initiated sister of Alpha Omicron Pi. I went early alum in the fall, but I could not be prouder of those ladies.
What is the last book you read? I’m currently reading “The Federalist Papers.”
Favorite comfort food? My grandpa makes fantastic tamales, and they never fail to make me feel better.
If you had a theme song, what would it be? Either Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor or the Skywalker Theme… depending on my mood.
What is a skill you’d like to learn and why? I’d like to learn to play the piano because it seems like something a cultured lady would do.
What is your favorite book? Gone with the Wind
Who is your hero? My grandpa. He never got the chance to graduate high school but by his mid-twenties he had saved up enough money to afford the immigration process and left the only life he knew to come to the United States.
If you could go back in history, who would you like to meet? Rameses II, I would want to know if he actually had red hair.
Where is your favorite place to eat? The Melting Pot in Marietta. My mom and sister hate it, so we only go on my birthday.
What did you want to be when you were a kid? An archeologist, mainly because my dad had convinced my that Indiana Jones was based on his life story.
As a Roadrunner, what does it mean to Run Boldly? It means to pursue something without fear, even if people think you’re wrong or crazy. Decide where you want to go and just go for it because you either have that opportunity or you created it for yourself.
