Dalton State Launches New Website

08/03/15

Dalton State has launched a new sleek, mobile-responsive website this week to better meet the needs of those seeking news and information about the College.

The site, which features graphic elements, photos, and videos, is a cleaner, more user-friendly site. The site reorganized several areas making it easier to navigate. It was developed by Third Wave Digital with input from students, faculty, and staff.

“We wanted to create a richer online experience for those wanting to know more about Dalton State,” said Pam Partain, director of Marketing and Communication. “Paying particular attention to the informational needs of millennial learners, we sought to design a site that is dynamic, interactive, and visually engaging. And of course it had to be responsive across a variety of platforms including tablets and handheld devices.”

The site prominently displays information a student interested in Dalton State would find useful.

“I think it’s one of the best college websites out there,” said Jonathan Marks, marketing manager for the Office of Marketing and Communications. “The ‘Apply’ button on every page, and we’ve made it easier to schedule a tour or find out about admissions requirements and programs we offer. We kept the needs of a prospective student in mind while creating the website.”

The homepage includes a Roadrunner Spotlight which each week features a different student, faculty or staff member, or member of the Dalton State alumni. A series of videos acquaints prospective students and their families with various aspects of life at Dalton State. News about the College is featured prominently in words and pictures. An interactive map acquaints visitors and newcomers with the campus, the calendar feature makes scheduling easy, and a special Admission Resource Center page includes at-a-glance information for prospective students considering joining Roadrunner Nation.

“The new website is a great tool to easily share news and photos of campus with the community,” said Misty Watson Wheeler, communications manager for the Office of Marketing and Communications. “I’m really excited about the Roadrunner Spotlight feature. It gives us a great way to tell about the amazing students, faculty, staff, and alumni of Dalton State.”

The website was designed with an easy-to-update format, meaning content will be fresh and timely.  Visitors are invited to spend some time on the site at www.daltonstate.edu.
