Dalton State Receives Gift from Bank of America

04/02/19

The Bank of America Charitable Foundation recently made a gift to the Dalton State Foundation in support of student scholarships.

“We are proud of this latest investment in Dalton State students by our friends at the Bank of America Charitable Foundation,” said Dalton State Foundation Director David Elrod.

“Bank of America’s local market president, Will Pridgen, was the catalyst for this latest gift to Dalton State, and we are grateful for his and the company’s ongoing interest in the success of our students,” Elrod said. “Bank of America’s corporate citizenship in our community and their partnership with Dalton State is a point of pride for us. This gift is an additional resource for our students to attend college, and that creates a win-win environment for all of us.”

The gift will sustain scholarships for need-based financial aid in the 2019-2020 academic year.

“Nearly two-thirds of Dalton State students seek need-based financial aid in order to attend classes here,” said Dalton State President Dr. Margaret Venable. “Gifts like those from Bank of America have an immediate impact on our students today, and they have a long-term impact when those students graduate and become productive citizens in our communities. We are honored to have earned Bank of America’s friendship and confidence.”
