Why did you choose Dalton State? I originally attended and played volleyball at a different institution, but after a back injury and new opportunities at home, I decided to transfer. I chose DSC because I had heard the education program was WONDERFUL, and I liked the fact that I could commute easily.
What does it mean to you to be part of the Roadrunner Nation? When I first transferred to Dalton State, I thought I would feel lost and not belong; however, the faculty and students made me feel at home, and I soon found myself enjoying the Roadrunner ways. I am currently in the education program and was honored to serve on the Homecoming Court. I have found my place at Dalton State! I am a testimony that students can transfer to Dalton State and not only fit in but excel in and out of the classroom.
What do you plan to do after graduation? Become a teacher and volleyball coach in Walker or Catoosa County.
Who is/was your favorite professor and why? Mrs. Johnson, I had her for three classes my first semester of the education program, and she served as such a calming and inspiring mentor in my life.
What are some of your biggest achievements or accomplishments at Dalton State? I was blessed to serve on the 2019 Homecoming Court, and I have maintained a 4.0 in all of my DSC Classes.
Where is your favorite study spot? The best spot to study or eat lunch on campus is on the balcony of the Brown Center.
What is your best memory so far as part of the Roadrunner Nation? Getting to know and become best friends with the other DSC students in my education cohort!
What is the last book you read? Island of the Blue Dolphins, my 6th grade summer reading book. I do not like reading.
Favorite comfort food? Ice-cream
If you had a theme song, what would it be? “Every Storm Runs Out of Rain” by Gary Allen
Favorite line from a movie? “Get in the car loser, we’re going shopping!” – Mean Girls
If you won the lottery, what would you do? Pay off my Mom and Dad’s house loan, pay for mine and my brothers college education, travel the world, buy a beach house, and seven golden retrievers.
What is a skill you’d like to learn and why? How to fly a plane. I think it would be so neat to be able to fly myself and friends to places I want to visit.
What cheers you up? Listening to country music on a long Jeep ride!!
What is your favorite childhood memory? That my parents came to all my ball games and events, and they encouraged me to do my best.

As a Roadrunner, what does it mean to Run Boldly? To me, the phrase Run Boldly means to persevere and give your all, all the time. It is important to boldly be yourself!! I believe I should be intentional and give my best effort at school, work, and with friendships. In relation to academics, I had heard people talk about how academically tough Dalton State was; however, I did not know the extent of it until I became a student. After sitting through the first day of classes and looking over syllabi I could tell that Dalton State academics were different and were going to challenge me. I stepped up to the plate and changed my study habits in order to achieve my academic goals. Along the way I established great friendships and have experienced new opportunities at DSC. I have realized the term Run Bodley applies both in and out of the classroom, and I strive to give my all in all aspects of life.
