Alternative Breaks

The Alternative Breaks program through the Student Life strives to build conscious leaders and citizens through programs that educate participants on environmental, social, and global issues. Students participate in an extended service learning trip, including reflection and direct service.

Alternative Spring Break 2017

This year Student Life will be sponsoring the Alternative Spring Break Trip to Boulder Creek, California. While in Boulder Creek, students will be staying at the YMCA Camp Campbell Outdoor Science School. Students will be volunteering in a leadership role at the camp for 5th and 6th graders. During this time volunteers and the students will be learning about and exploring the environment. More information on the service aspects of the trip can be found here.

The trip is during Spring Break on March 12th - 17th, so students will not be missing any classes. The cost of the trip is $250. Applicants must apply by Friday, January 27th and submit a $100 nonrefundable deposit to secure their spot. Only 14 spots are available.

*There will be fundraising opportunities available to help offset the cost for students wishing to attend.
