Dalton State Seeks Community Input

01/16/20

Dalton State College is seeking community input on the mission, vision, values and goals of the college during an open forum this month.

The college is developing a new strategic plan and will host a community forum on Tuesday, Jan. 28 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in Peeples Hall, room 112. Parking is located adjacent to the building.

This forum will allow members of the community such as employers, officials with K-12 schools and DSC alumni an opportunity to weigh in on the college’s plan for the next five years and beyond. The college’s new strategic plan will align with the University System of Georgia’s plan that is active through 2024.

“We provide access to higher education and rely on the community’s feedback to inform our planning,” said Dr. Margaret Venable, president of Dalton State. “As we introduce new programs and tailor our curriculum to fulfill workforce needs, it is important to hear what the public thinks about the direction of our college. This input will help Dalton State be successful and continue to have a positive impact on our community.”

Those who wish to give feedback but cannot attend the forum are encouraged to complete an online survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2020dscplan. For more information on Dalton State’s strategic planning visit https://www.daltonstate.edu/about/about-strategic-planning.cms.
