Constitution Week Kick Off - 4C's of Civil Doscourse

Join us for the official kick-off to Constitution Week with a powerful evening of dialogue and discovery. The nationally recognized 4Cs Team from The Ohio State University will lead an engaging program that introduces the 4Cs of Civil Discourse—Civility, Compassion, Courage, and Commitment—and explores their vital role in sustaining a healthy democracy.Through interactive discussion and shared insights, participants will learn why civil discourse is essential in today’s world and how each of us can practice it in classrooms, workplaces, and everyday life. This event invites both the Dalton State campus and the wider Dalton community to reflect on what it means to disagree respectfully, engage across differences, and contribute to a culture of understanding.? Don’t miss this opportunity to:
  • Gain practical tools for engaging in difficult conversations.
  • Explore how civility strengthens democracy and community life.
  • Connect with others committed to fostering respectful dialogue.
Come ready to listen, reflect, and add your voice to the conversation. Together, we can model the values of civil discourse that make a difference on our campus and beyond.Open to Campus and CommunitySpeakers: Drs. Kathryn Joyce and Aaron Yarmel from The Ohio State
