The C. Lamar and Ann Wright School of Business achieved AACSB reaccreditation in January 2020 after a successful continuous improvement review (CIR) visit in fall 2019, but the opportunity to receive official recognition among international colleagues was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The team was to receive official recognition at the AACSB International Conference and Annual Meeting (ICAM) in April 2020, but the in-person meeting in Denver, Colo. was cancelled. The WSOB leadership team received recognition and congratulations at the first in-person ICAM meeting held in April 2022 in New Orleans, La.
“This is an extreme honor to be officially recognized for our most recent and third reaffirmation visit,” Marilyn Helms, dean of C. Lamar and Ann Wright School of Business (WSOB), said. “We’ve been accredited since 2010 with AACSB and our students are assured that DSC’s WSOB has a strong, modern, up-to-date business curriculum. The accreditation also provides a smooth transition for our students into graduate studies in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Masters of Accountancy (MACC) programs at the institutions of their choice. In fact, we have multiple agreements with our regional partners offering graduate business degrees that welcome our WSOB graduates.”

AACSB’s premier international business accreditation is reviewed on a five-year rotating basis by AACSB. As part of this CIR review, a team of three deans from other AACSB-accredited peer schools visited the campus over three days and evaluated the Wright School of Business in categories including, but not limited to, curriculum and faculty research; faculty impact on community; graduation rates and placement of business students in the workforce or graduate school upon graduation. The next team visit is scheduled for fall 2024.
