Dalton State College has named Alex Thomas as the new assistant vice president for enrollment management.
“Alex is widely recognized for achieving enrollment growth, leading with vision and leveraging technology to support strategic enrollment efforts,” Jami Hall, vice president for student enrollment and success, said. “We are excited to welcome him to our team.”
Thomas, who assumed the role May 1, previously served as executive director of recruitment and admissions at Fort Valley State University for five years and brings additional experience in higher education from roles held at Georgia State University and Mercer University. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in public administration from Valdosta State University.
“I’m very excited to join the Dalton State family and be a part of an institution that is transforming the Northwest Georgia community,” said Thomas. “Enrollment Services has such an impact on the student journey from start to finish. I look forward to continuing the previous success and building upon their standards.”
Dalton State’s enrollment has increased 22.8% over the past three years, and the college has consistently ranked among the top 10% of institutions nationwide for student experience since 2023, according to The Wall Street Journal/College Pulse.
