Dalton State Foundation elects new officers and trustees 

The Dalton State Foundation Board of Trustees elected new officers and trustees during its 2026 spring meeting held May 7 at Dalton State College. 

“The Foundation cultivates volunteer leadership to support the college through advocacy and philanthropy,” said David Elrod, Dalton State College’s vice president for institutional advancement and president of the Foundation. “This group of leaders maintains that tradition with their excitement and enthusiasm for the good things happening here, and we are fortunate to have earned their commitment to working with us.”   

New officers elected for the 2026-2028 term are: 

  • Mitch Sanford ’12 – chairman 
  • Anna Adamson – vice chair 
  • Josh Killion ’04 – vice chair-designate 
  • Josh Wilson – secretary 
  • David Elrod ’88 – treasurer 

New trustees elected for the 2026-2030 term are: 

  • Julian Dossche of Whitfield County, president of International Flooring Company  
  • Lesa Downey ’26 of Whitfield County, president of North Georgia National Bank  
  • Bryan Griffin of Whitfield County, area manager for Georgia Power Company 
  • Marilyn Helms of Catoosa County, dean emerita of the C. Lamar & Ann Wright School of Business at Dalton State College 
  • Wendy Sosebee of Gordon County, assistant vice president for fiscal affairs for Dalton State College 
  • Kevin Wright of Whitfield County, vice president of sales for Marketing Alliance Group 

During the meeting, the Board thanked David E. Pennington III ’74 for his service as chairman the preceding two years. 

“At Dalton State, we are building momentum in ways that directly benefit our students and community, and the Foundation is central to that progress,” President John Fuchko said. “I am excited to work alongside this outstanding group of leaders, who bring vision and energy that will help us continue expanding opportunity and transforming lives across our region.”
